Hadassah Medical Center released a statement Saturday night, expressing shock that Ahmed Elian, an employee on the cleaning staff through a staffing company, carried out an attack at the Mizmoria checkpoint between Gush Etzion and Jerusalem.
"The management of the Hadassah Medical Center is shocked and strongly condemns the heinous attack. The management has instructed the staffing company to conduct a background check on all of its employees to ensure that the hospital only receives those with a clean background,” said the statement released by a spokesperson.
However, if a simple background check had been carried out on Elian's family no one would have been surprised.
Ahmed, from Jabal Mukhaber, is a cousin of Baha Elian, a terrorist who murdered three Jews in a terrorist shooting attack on bus 78 in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood of Jerusalem eight years ago.

Baha's father is Attorney Mohammad Elian, who was listed by Hakol HaYehudi as a major source of incitement and was arrested at the beginning of the war for supporting Hamas and the Oct. 7th attack.
Hadassah was also surprised when another member of their cleaning staff, Zina Abado, was arrested for supporting terror and was released as part of the recent prisoner exchange with Hamas.
Likewise, the Egged bus company was also surprised when we exposed that one of their drivers supported suicide bombings, though they stated that they are not allowed to investigate the drivers’ backgrounds. The IDF has been repeatedly surprised with the problems of Arab laborers on sensitive bases, including an incident of an individual working on submarine maintenance who was exposed as one of the rioters from the unrest during operation Guardian of the Walls.
At Ariel University, they too were surprised when we exposed a student from Ramle who had participated in rioting during operation Guarding of the Walls.
