Minister Amichai Chikli participated in a conference of Hakol Hayehudi concerning the new regime in Syria, and said that even though Syria is currently quiet, it is still a dangerous enemy.

Hakol Hayehudi held a special Zoom conference concerning the new regime in Syria. Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli was interviewed for the conference and declared: we must not sign a peace treaty with Syria, and we must not allow  al-Sharaa's forces to become established along Israel's northern border.

"We are dealing with a barbaric, Jihadist group" said Minister Chikli. The Minister explained that their ideology is radically Islamist, and any peace treaty made with them would result in the establishment of a murderous terror state that would attack Israel when it felt the time was right.

“I examine reality on the basis of the underlying ideology.” he said. “First tell me your vision, your aspirations, your core belief—then we can sit down and talk.”

"If your vision is the Islamic Caliphate and Jihad, if your background is Al-Qaeda, if your organizational affiliation is the Muslim Brotherhood, if your allies are Qatar, Hamas, and the Islamist Erdogan, then what kind of peace could we be talking about, and on what basis?"

According to Minister Chikli, peace with Syria is irrelevant, and the most that can be achieved is a ceasefire and some degree of normalization, provided that southern Syria remains demilitarized: "The approach must be proactive, with a wide buffer zone and offensive operations to prevent them gaining a foothold or enabling their military to build any capabilities along the Golan border. Also, I think it's very important to extend a hand and assist as much as possible the Druze minority, which faces a grave threat that, in my understanding, is far from over."

Another significant concern resulting from the growing presence of the Shi’ite axis on Israel's border, is the connection between Arabs in Israel and Gaza and al-Sharaa's people, as exposed repeatedly by Hakol Hayehudi investigations. “Al-Sharaa himself said that the best weapon against Israel is the Arabs within Israel,” Minister Chikli noted, expressing hope that the new head of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) will know how to confront this challenge.

Minister Chikli mentioned that he disagrees with Prime Minister Netanyahu's policy regarding Syria but praised Israel’s relentless airstrikes and substantial efforts to prevent al-Sharaa's  entrenchment in southern Syria.

Regarding Turkish President Erdoğan, Minister Chikli said that he has a “very clear vision. He sees himself as a sultan, as the leader of an empire, as the head of the Muslim world. His vision is very clear —and it’s aimed at Jerusalem.”

"This can be seen in his clear statements, where he claims that Jerusalem is part of Turkey. This can also be seen through the Turkish activity taking place in Jerusalem, especially in and around the Old City, through an organization called TIKA; very bad Islamist subversive activity. Essentially, this axis, which also involves Qatar, is the Muslim Brotherhood axis, which combines Erdoğan’s neo-Ottoman vision with the Islamic Caliphate vision that seeks to restore Islam to its former glory."

The Minister repeatedly praised Hakol Hayehudi for their investigative reporting on the subject: "The investigations that you conduct at Hakol Hayehudi, including the latest one and previous ones, are critical and important investigations. Regrettably, I don’t see others doing this work with the same depth and quality.”
