Hakol HaYehudi has repeatedly reported and exposed information about Arabs, some with previous terror associations, working at IDF bases and even on classified submarines.

However, recent reports highlight a significant failure reminiscent of the Yom Kippur War.

In the Golan Heights, many Druze from the area are employed by external subcontractors to work on strategic bases. Unlike the majority of Druze Arabs in Israel who serve in the IDF, these Druze workers are from villages that maintain ties to the Syrian regime, which controlled the area before the Six Day Way.

The workers are primarily involved maintenance and construction on strategic bases near the Hermon region.

It is unclear if the IDF is aware of the security risks posed by these workers, both in terms of intelligence leaks and operational risks. The IDF stated that the workers undergo security checks that do not discriminate based on “race, religion, or gender." However, the concerns raised by soldiers serving on the bases cannot be ignored.

A recent episode of the "Enemies" series by the Kan television broadcaster, revealed that prior to the Yom Kippur War, Syrian soldiers trained on a model of an IDF base using intelligence received from Druze workers on the base.

Pesach Malobani, a former senior officer in the Mossad and Military Intelligence, noted that the Syrian commandos trained on a model replica of the IDF base in the Golan Heights. “They carried out these exercises in northwestern Syria in the Latakia region and nobody here knew about it.”

Yossi Gershon served as an investigator on prisoners of war during the Yom Kippur War and recalled, "I interrogated Ahmad Juju, commander of the 82nd Battalion of the Syrian Commandos, who led the capture of the IDF Hermon base at the beginning of the war. The first thing he said was that the Syrian Commandos trained for over a year on how to capture base, and that during the training they were not informed that the outpost being trained on was a replica of the Israeli Hermon base for security reasons. Only a few days before the battle were they brought to an area near the Hermon base to adjust to the weather conditions, and there they were told that their training was to capture the base.

“Juju told me that they were very familiar with the base. He said that during construction of the base, Druze workers from the Golan Heights worked on it and that some of them worked for Syrian Intelligence. From them, we obtained a clear picture of how the base was built, both above and below ground,” said Gershon.

Currently, following the IDF’s failures in the south, and the tremendous intelligence that Hamas terrorists seem to have possessed on classified bases, soldiers at the Hermon base fear of a similar scenario in their region.

The IDF Spokesman commented, “All of the laborers under the various contractors that work inside IDF bases undergo a security check and background check without regard to race, religion or gender.”
