Unprecedented: the administrative calls for the detention of Ariel Danino, without trial and without evidence, for four months. Danino was arrested last night in his home and was initially taken for interrogation by the Israeli Police. After being brought before a judge in the afternoon, Defense Minister Gallant issued an administrative detention order calling for him to be held at a detention center for security prisoners (generally Arab terrorists) in Megiddo or Ketziot.
Danino is an activist for Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and is active in social media online. Since the outbreak of the war, he has been assisting authorities and coordinating a network of dozens of volunteers who search Arab social media and provide real-time information to security forces.
Attorney Nati Rom, representing Danino on behalf of the 'Hanenu' organization stated: "The State of Israel is in the midst of it’s Second Independence War, but unfortunately the Shin Bet continues with its previous conceptions, fighting against our Jewish brothers instead of against the enemy. They continue to target the Jewish pioneers in Judea and Samaria instead of acting against the Nazi enemy that seeks to annihilate us. The detention order was issued after misleading the Israeli courts and trampling on the rule of law."
