HaKol HaYehudi’s latest investigation reveals further connections between Ra'am's Support 48 charity and Hamas operatives, this time with Amin Abu Rashid, a member of the Hamas leadership in Europe, who was recently arrested by the Netherlands for funding terror.

In 2013, then-Defense Minister Bogie Ya'alon identified Abu Rashid as a Hamas operative and announced that anyone in contact with Abu Rashid would be guilty of contact with a foreign agent – an offense punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Abu Rashid’s affiliation with Hamas leadership was also revealed on the “Informant” series by Ad Kan and Zvi Yehezkeli from Channel 13. There, Abu Rashid was exposed as a Hamas activist who transferred millions of dollars to Hamas in Gaza through a network of ostensibly "humanitarian" organizations. "My job is to destroy Israel," he boasted in front of the undercover actor for the “Informant.”

Following the airing of the episode, Abu Rashid was arrested in Europe and is still in custody today.

Our latest investigation shows that activists from Ra'am's Support 48 Association maintained relationships with Abu Rashid up until his arrest.

Abu Rashid conducted several joint projects with the Hamas-affiliated Turkish nonprofit hir Ummah. In several instances, members of Support 48 also partnered in these projects. For example, in 2016, after Abu Rashid was identified as a member of Hamas leadership by Israel, members of Support 48 attended events and distributed food with him in Turkey.

The relationship also took place online. Documentation we uncovered indicates meetings between Abu Rashid and his associates, and members of Support 48. Hamas activists from Hir Ummah also attended one such meeting in January 2022.

The key figure involved in the relationship appears to be Naal Issa, the son-in-law of Abdallah Nimr Darwish, founder of the Islamic Movement in Israel, and a public relations representative of Support 48.

Issa also led the connection with the Hamas-affiliated nonprofit Hir Ummah. Aside from Issa, Abu Rashid was also photographed with Nimr Abu Liz and other activists from Support 48.

The Ad Kan organization said in response to the investigation: "The importance of these findings cannot be diminished. The connection between the head of Hamas in the Netherlands, who was arrested following the information we provided about his funding of terrorism, and leaders of the Southern Branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel must lead to actions by law enforcement in Israel. We call for an investigation and prosecution of anyone in contact with declared terrorist entities".

Our attempts to obtain a response from Ra'am and Support 48 were unsuccessful.
