Today (Tuesday) officers from the Judea and Samaria District Police arrested a 22-year-old young man in Gush Shiloh in Binyamin. They had an arrest warrant issued by a court two weeks prior on suspicion of murder. However, following a mere 20-minute interrogation, he was released to his home.
The police released the young man under the condition that he stay away from two Arab villages in the area. Additionally, the officers served him with a draconian administrative order, signed by Central Commander, Major General Yehuda Fuchs, which prohibits him from speaking with 22 of his friends.
The Honenu Legal Aid organization said in response, “While the State of Israel is engaged in a multi-front war, this is what the Judea and Samaria District Police are occupied with. During normal times this would be outrageous, but given the current situation it is even more shocking that the police focus on trumping up ridiculous charges and issuing administrative orders without evidence, all the while terror attacks are increasing in Judea and Samaria, their jurisdiction.”
