Ignored by Mainstream Media: Hilltop Youth Work on Frontlines Adding Armor to Vehicles.

Every time they arrest Hilltop Youth, remember this group that on Shabbat morning rushed to the frontlines and volunteered to do the work that no one else was able to do.”

Oz Yitzhak Namir, the son of Dr. Sodi Namir, who was expelled from Gush Katif, reported on the dedication of the Hilltop Youth. “On Shabbat morning, we needed to move south with our equipment towards Gaza, in order to treat the wounded and help in the fighting. We were preparing to go in, but suddenly we discovered a problem with the protective armor on the vehicles. The IDF wasn’t able to arrange a fix and it was impossible to proceed. We were not sure what to do, so we sat around waiting.”

There was utter chaos among the command centers, but suddenly they arrived. On Shabbat morning, a group of Hilltop Youth from Yitzhar, Gush Shiloh, and the surrounding areas- with tremendous motivation and a positive attitude cam ready to work. All of the reserve soldiers in my unit were in shock upon witnessing this group of ‘Hilltop Youth’ who came on Shabbat to weld protective armor for them. Are these the same Hilltop Youth that everyone curses, criticizes, and blames? These are the guys? With such great energy and dedication? Amazing.”

“I was moved to tears seeing them," my father told me. “They came with their own supplies and tools and did amazing work, all for free on a volunteer basis.” Meanwhile, I told him about the administrative detention of Ariel Danino, and there were no words to describe his shock, anger, and frustration at hearing the news.

"Danino, the ‘dangerous’ young man from Yitzhar, who is beloved by his friends and family, who since the start of the war has not stopped working on locating and monitoring terror in Judea and Samaria - was thrown into a jail cell in a prison with Arab terrorists for four months. It's incomprehensible. Every time they arrest Jewish pioneers from Yitzhar or Hilltop Youth, they should remember the group that came on Shabbat morning to carry out the critical work of adding armor to the vehicles, that no one else was able to do.”

One last thing about that Shabbat morning: It turns out that it was a group of about thirty welders from Judea and Samaria. They split up into smaller teams who went to different bases and welded the armor on numerous vehicles, enabling the soldiers to leave for their missions. I want to thank the Libi construction company  for initiating the project and funding it without reimbursement from the army,” Oz Yitzhak Namir concluded.
